About Jordan
Hi there! Thanks for being here. I’m Jordan, a girl who was born and raised in Minnesota and loves the outdoors, reading, the ocean, and a whole bunch of other things. I got my B.S. in ecology from Yale University in 2019, where I also played division one ice hockey. After undergrad, I moved to LA to pursue my Ph.D. in biology from the University of Southern California. After completing my doctorate in 2024, I spent six months living in Spain as a Fulbright Scholar. Now, I am living and working full time in New Zealand as an aquaculture scientist. My research focuses on the genetics of marine species and sustainable aquaculture production and development. My passions include travel, surfing, backpacking, spending time with loved ones, and, of course, writing. Drop me a line at anytime to connect.
About The Newsletter
The Newsletter started as a funny way for me to stay in touch with friends and family while I was out at sea for a research project. Now, it has grown into an almost-monthly publication that includes musings on topics of sustainability, marine science, the outdoors, and life in general. I hope you’ll join me on this long and windy road.
